Woodley
The name Woodley means 'a clearing in the wood' and is believed to have been part of Windsor Great Forest. One hundred years ago, Woodley was a small rural community with less than one thousand inhabitants.
The area became well known due to the Flying School opened in the 1930’s on land belonging to Sandford Farm and in1953, Douglas Bader opened the Coronation Hall.
Today Woodley is a thriving suburban location and a popular choice for families and commuters with great road & rail links to local towns & London.
Woodford Park provides outdoor sports and leisure facilities. Bulmershe Leisure Centre provides a wide range of indoor activities including a ‘pool. Woodley Shopping Precinct offers a great variety of shops.
